Recording: Day 4

Ok, so the day before we walked into this little project, Jeremy’s computer crashed and burned to the point where there wasn’t even an operating system left…....nor were any of the samples that he had created still in existence. Ok, so today when Jeremy picked me up with plans to get moving on samples, he was fuming and this was due to the fact that the samples that he still had saved on his iPod also vanished when the little electronic slipped off his bathroom counter, shattering into a screen, a disc, a click-wheel, and some nodes that all landed barely in a radius of 20 feet…..his bathroom is huge!

Coming in today we knew that we had a lot of time between noon and 6 before Mitch was off to get in and do more guitar work so we took advantage of the time to begin some of the pre-mixing stuff on the toms, let Aaron do some more vocal work, and also start recovering/recreating samples and placing them throughout some of the songs. Those 6 hours ended up being extremely productive and Mitch walked in the door the second we finished placing the last one. He then added his first layer of mid-level distortion parts and finished them right at 10.

We’re all exhausted, but having an awesome time through this process. With each step closer and closer to the ending result we are finding ourselves smiling more and more, shaking our heads in excitement, and spilling beer in our laps. We’ve eaten a lot of burritos, wired ourselves with coffee juice, energized ourselves
with gatorade and red bull, and wound down with whatever beer made it into the fridge.
